Looking back at that blog, I did describe “Preparing your device for mobile management” but not that well.So let me try again! During the “Preparing” ESP phase the “Policy Providers” need to be installed.Those Policy Providers are required for the ESP to know which policies and Win32 Apps it needs to track.The device timed out- sidecar. I have iPad Pro 3 generation which is updated to 13.1.2 and then I try to connect it to Macbook Pro 2018 with MacOS Catalina updated . I am using the sam WIFI, Apple ID and devices are 10 cm distance . None of the 4 devices listed were on beta prior to updating.

Followed your steps and got it working on my MacBook 11,2 and iPad Pro 11"! I started out with a wire but it kept working after I unplugged it, so I guess it works over WiFi as wellTried all the log out, log in of apple id in mac and ipad but still same. Reboot both devices still same. Reset ipad network settings still same. Turn off/on airplane and bluetooth still same. Turn off/on handoff on both devices still same. Tried sidecar with cable works though. So can't be device issue. Same here.
