I have 285/70/17s with a 3" lift and they still rub my modified upper control arms a bit when I turn hard. I find it pretty hard to believe these don't rub with no lift. But if so, congrats I guess.Conclusion. For reference, we are using the 285/70R17 Yokohama Geolandar X-AT which is a true 33″ tire measuring out at 33.1″. The X-ATs have a diameter of 33.1″, a width of 11.7″, comes in a load range E, and mounts up to a 7.50″ – 9.00″ wide wheel. It’s important to note the X-ATs are a true 33″ tire because most of the 285/70 tires on ...A 285/70R17 is a different diameter than a 285/75R17. And if you!re going to an 18” or 20” rim, it’s an even bigger diameter. You can run 285/65s with just a set of wheels. Diameter is the same 31.6 as the factory 265/70s. 285/70 will require about 3 inches of lift though.Apr 26, 2018 · I know TONS of 4runner owners run 285/70R17 tires on TRD PRO wheels 17x7" and SR5 alloy 17x7" wheels. HOWEVER, 285/70R17 tires calls for rim width range of 7.5-9" so technically minimum of 7.5" of rim width is required. I know trail edition and TRD Offroad wheel is 17x7.5" so it is safe. OP - 33’s will absolutely fit stock IF you don’t run wheel spacers. Stock trd off-road and trd pro wheels both fit 33s with the front fender mod done. Your pro comes from the factory with a variation of this mod done already. Source - I’m running 285/70r17 on stock wheels on my MY22.

Right is a 275/60/20 Cooper HTplus. The 275 nominally is the narrowest, but in real life it's the widest of the bunch. And the 285/75/17 Cooper is significantly narrower than the 285/70/17 Toyo.
