Since I'm playing the desktop version, the only way to get it should be dropping from creatures from the deep, with about a 1/50 chance, right? But now, after killing nearly 250 of the darn ... IIRC, the Shell only converts you into a Merman when your character is underwater. And being a Merman is what saves you from drowning, not the shell itself. So technically, it does not get rid of drowning. And because you're not underwater when you're wearing the Fishbowl, the shell won't activate, and your character will drown. ….
