Polaris ranger clunking noise in front end
des929 Discussion starter · Apr 20, 2014. Only have about 10 hrs on my 2014 900XP and the last couple hrs I've had some knocking noise start in the front end that I can hear at slow speeds. I jacked front end up and by rotating the front wheels by hand i figured out that the knocking is coming from both front wheels.Rake1 Discussion starter · Nov 4, 2022. I have a new 2023 XP that has a clunk in the front end when hitting bumps especially rocky terrain. My 2020 General did the same thing only worse, any idea what it is? I was told it might be the sway bar but don't know, it is annoying to have to hear this on a new machine.

1096 posts · Joined 2012. #2 · May 3, 2014. When I had my 08 800rzr, thats the same scenario I had with the front diff. My front end would click when in awd and two wheel drive. The culprit was a broken sprague cage. I replaced it with an aftermarket rather than use a Polaris part and risk the same damage again out in the trail.pull the shock that is leaking, with the shock upright (like it sits on the rzr) push down in the top of it with your hands, if it goes down even just a little with no restiance it has lost its gas charge. its a little hard to describe but it will go down maby a half of an inch +/- or so then get real stiff.So if you hear a clunking sound when backing up it may be your rear bearings going out. The cost was so much because my rear sprocket bolts came out again so he replaced the whole center Hub/sprocket and gave me all new boots. See more. Reply. ….
