After my trans developed the shudder and surging... dealer did the "flush" and immediately after that I installed the Range AFM disabler. If sounds like its coming drivers side then pull valve cover and check all rocker arms and pushrods. A lot of times if the push rod is bent the rocker arm will be turned. You will probably want to get a new valve cover gasket.
